In this hands-on session we'll build confidence glazing round forms and building values into a cozy autumn still life. One apple, two donuts, one cloth — it looks more complicated than it is, and you'll break it down in one night. No prior painting experience needed, just a willingness to get your brush wet and let go of "perfect."

You'll walk away knowing how to:

• Glaze a round apple to look juicy and dimensional

• Build values in stages to give form to the donuts

• Control water-to-pigment ratios using wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry

This session is a gorgeous look into painting water, atmosphere and light on a rugged New England point. We'll use wet washes and negative painting to carve foam and spray out of the sea.

Recommended for: students comfortable with basic washes and water control who want to take on perspective and a vibrant seascape.

• Use wet-in-wet washes for sky and sea atmosphere

• Rough-in architecture in simplified shapes and forms in a landscape

• Layer rocks and foreground so the coast reads deep, not flat

This session is a charming choice. We'll paint a plump pumpkin and curling autumn leaves with a simple glaze and a few negative strokes — then add the chickadee when you're ready. Paint it either way; I'll show you both.

• Use the tip of the brush for detail work (feathers/curly vines)

• Use wet-in-wet for gorgeous fall Maple leaves.

This session pulls the whole month together: a covered bridge with water reflections, autumn trees and a stone foundation. Every technique from the series builds on the last, ending with a piece you'll want to frame.
